Jamie Redknapp has shared a heartwarming tribute to his dad Harry, as he takes on the challenges of the ITV jungle on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!
Viewers have been left in hysterics as Harry, 71, continues to reel off hilarious stories about his lifetime in the spotlight to his fellow campmates, and now even his ex-footballer son has made a joke about his legendary tales.
Taking to Instagram, Louise Redknapp’s ex-husband shared an adorable image alongside his father from when he was a child. The black-and-white snap showed his proud dad with his arm around the youngster, the pair both kitted out in football gear as they posed up a storm for the camera.
Jamie captioned the shot – which he shared with his 568,000 Instagram followers – with: “#tbt to before he was the most famous storyteller in town.”
Fans were quick to comment on the adorable snap, with one writing: “Loving Harry on I’m a Celeb, Such a diamond.”
“Your dad is fab it’s so nice to see the real him. I can see where you get your logic from,” another wrote, while a third added: “He has become the highlight of my day, as soon as he opens he’s mouth I am laughing! Does he even know he is hilariously funny?”
On the show, Harry makes regular reference to his beloved wife Sandra, to whom he has been married to since 1967.
The pair met as 17 year old’s at a dance after he plucked up the courage to approach her, and went on to marry four years later.
The football manger and Sandra have two sons, former professional footballer turned TV pundit, Jamie and his brother, Mark.
Upon entering the jungle, Harry admitted that he will struggle with being away from his longtime wife, saying: “That’s the biggest problem I have got. We do everything together. I have been with Sandra for 54 years and I hate being away from her.”
The devoted husband has previously admitted that he and Sandra have never had an argument in all the time they have been together.
He said: “We’ve never had a row. Ever. After all these years, we’ve never had a minute’s problem between us. And that’s true.
“That’s not bulls**t. If I get the hump, she’ll just say, ‘look at you Harry, look at you, just calm down’ and I do.”
